REVIEW: During a hectic and crowded time in Rome, staying at the 4th Floor was just perfect. One reason for my visit was to be near the Vatican and this was an awesome location. It also was a great location to walk to other places around town and for day trips I took. I spend a week and truly enjoyed the peacefulness of my stay in a hectic city. I had never stayed at a B&B before so I was bit worried. I appreciate Lauro's understanding, friendly, and informative attitude. I would recommend this place.

REVIEW: My wife and I stayed for 4 nights and we had an awesome time! This was our first time in a bed and breakfast and we couldn't have asked for a better stay! The B&B is in a great location, just a few minute walk from the Vatican City, which also has a metro stop. There are also several restaurants surrounding the B&B, not to mention our favorite gelato place! Lauro was a great host as well. He provided us with an in-depth map of the city along with great tips for getting around (we walked everywhere) and the best way to skip the lines at some of the sites. On a side note i recommend the Roma Pass if you're going to be in the city for at least 3 days. We enjoyed our morning conversations with Lauro over breakfast on his wonderful roof patio. The room itself was great too. Plenty big enough for the 2 of us with a very clean bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet at night. Overall, this was a great value in a great location in an amazing city. I couldn't recommend this more!

REVIEW: Really enjoyed our stay here. Super conveinient for the Vatican city and only a short walk to all the other sites in Rome. Acommadation a bit basic but then it is a "true" B&B. The guy who owns the flat is beautiful and really helpful. I would recommend this place if you're just in Rome to get out and about, the balcony is great but only for breakfast. Would definatly stay there again.

REVIEW: 4th floor was a wonderful place to stay in Rome, not only because is charming and in a perfect location just a few blocks from the Vatican, but mainly because of Lauro, owner and host of this b&b. Lauro is not only a vivacious conversationist, he's also really helpful with anything you ever need. In my case, I was trying to taste the best food of Rome and Lauro provided me with two recommendations that blew me away. Ask him and he'll tell you everything you know to get around Rome: from tips to avoid long lines to the best places to walk around. This was a great experience and I hope I'll be staying at the 4th floor again soon.

REVIEW: Very nice in heart of Rome ! Friendly host and atmosphere. We especially valued the location, and the feeling of locking ourselves into a real, old, Roman building next to the Pope. Lauro is friendly and helpful, room is clean and simple, with small new bathroom. Instead of tv you can listen to the bells from St.Peters. Neighbourhood is full of nice places to sit and look at all the Romans and having a real Roman meal. October is perfect. Unfortunately we had to move to another hotel for the last part of our stay, Lauro had no more nights vacant. This place is one of few quiet stays in Rome during the nighttime. No noise except from domestic sounds from naighbours through the open window. If you are looking for the real thing,,,, this is it.

REVIEW: The 4th Floor B&B was the perfect place for my 3 friends and me to stay while in Rome. The location is fantastic...very close to everthing one would want to see in Rome, and the price is very reasonable. Lauro, the owner, was very helpful in arranging transportation to the airport when we left. He was also very accommodating when my flight home was canceled due to the storms, and I had to stay for 3 extra days. (Nothing like "being stranded" in Rome!!) The B&B is very comfortable...Lauro makes his guests feel right at home!

REVIEW: My husband and I chose the 4th Floor because of its reasonable price and location close to the Vatican and the stay ended up being pretty much perfect. The apartment was located just a few blocks from the Vatican so we could walk there easily and we were also a couple of blocks from the 40 Express bus that could take us to Termini train station and major sights like the Victor Emmanuel Monument. The room was tidy and cozy and while the bed was a little firm we had no trouble falling asleep. The restroom was nice and clean with a rather large shower by European standards. The weather was cool enough that we did not miss the absence of air conditioning and the open windows and fan made the room very comfortable temperature-wise. We did ask for the room with the orthopedic bed as we had read on other websites that the other bedroom was not as comfortable. However, we did not see the other bed first-hand so we do not know if those stories were true. Lauro was very friendly and helpful and the room had free wi-fi which was great. My only complaint would have to be about breakfast. While it was good, he only served it from 9 to 10 am and since my husband and I were already out sightseeing by that time we were only able to have it once. I would recommend for future boarders to ask if the time can be moved because I never bothered to ask if it could be changed and Lauro may have been able to accomodate us. FInally, I just want to mention that we had to leave a passport or a $100 deposit for the apartment keys. I ended up leaving my passport which was returned promptly at the end of our stay, but I just want to warn people in advance so that they have the money ready if they do not want to leave a passport. Also be sure to have the money for the apartment at the beginning of the stay as you have to pay the entire amount up front. Otherwise, thank you Lauro for a great week in Rome.

REVIEW: The B&B is very well located, close to Vaticano. During our stay we moved exclusively by foot as each interesting place of Rome was less than 30minutes far from 4th floor B&B. The owner of the B&B (Lauro) is very nice and welcoming. We really enjoy the flat (terasse, bathroom and bedroom) The only negative point is the breakfast, coffea and tea were OK but biscottes and croissants sold in packet were not good at all. As a conclusion our stay was very pleasant and we enjoy both Rome and 4th floor B&B !!

Just a 2 minute walk from the Vatican City, shops cafes and restaurants. Accommodation is very basic but newly decorated clean, tidy, presentable and comfortable but very authentic Italy. In terms of breakfast my only comment would be that it is very basic but adequate to get you started in the mornings. The owner of the b&b is very helpful, courteous and friendly, offering lots of information and advice about the local area. I would most definitely stay again and recommend a stay here to family and friends for a comfortable and convenient stay in Rome.

REVIEW: Lauro was very welcoming, very helpful and kind. We really enjoyed talking with him a bit in the morning. The appartment has a really good location as well, close to everything but still being kind of residential. We would have liked to have free access to the terrace. In fact when we chose this B and B it was partially because we thought we would be able to use the terrace. In reality, you are only allowed out there during breakfast. This also meant that we had to go all the way downstairs to smoke. Otherwise we were very happy, we had all of the basic necessities and nothing crucial was lacking. Best, Allison and Florian

REVIEW: I spent 5 nights with my boyfriend in the 4th floor b´n´b. Overall it was a really nice place to stay. Before we arrived we felt a little worried because of some bad reviews we read about this place. But it was not bad at all. We had a nice room with a romantic view to the backyards and all the roofs we could see. The room had a good temperature and even if it got a little hot there was this nice windblower to relieve the exhaustion from the weather. Lauro, the owner of the place, was really nice to us and he didn´t interrupt us when we were in our room. He also was happy to awnser all the questions and pointed out good ways to get from point A to point B. It´s the best place to spend your nights when your main goal in Rome is sightseeing, because it´s ony a 3 minute walk to the Vatican. It´s not that important to have a luxurious bed and breakfest, since you will be so tired after all these days, that when you get back to your room, the only thing you do is sleep. To all of those that get a little worried about not having a lock on your room, don´t be. Nothing was lost or stolen or touched or looked at whatsoever. Lauro never even came to our room while we were staying there. He´s a great man who respects others privacy and well-being and i suggest you do the same. He gives you a key of his front door and aparment and that should be all you need to ensure a safe place to keep your things. For me the breakfast was great. I don´t usually eat in the mornings but free coffee is a great way to get me out of the bed early enough to get to go anywhere i want at a decent time. The bathroom does have a real hook, not a rubberband as you might have read from a certain review. I strongly suggest this place to everyone, who is looking for a fair price near Vatican and are happy with a simple room and a lovely breakfast. The location saved us a lot of time away from traffic, public transportation and walking. All the best, Katrin

REVIEW: 4th floor was absolutely incredible, and I can't emphasize enough how fabulous my stay was. Firstly, Lauro, the owner of the apartment, was so welcoming, friendly and accommodating, and made me feel so at home from the very first day. He prepares breakfast for you on a beautiful terrace each morning, and goes out of his way to help in whatever way he can. I even had a terrible 24 hour bug when I was staying with him, and he called his doctor for to see what he would recommend and offered to pick me up any medication if I needed it! A very sweet, very helpful, and very charming Italian man! Secondly, the location. Walking distance to whatever site in Rome you want to visit. (apart from maybe the Catacombs but even then, one could technically walk!) YET nestled away from all the hubbub and daily commotion. Thirdly, the price. You can see it for yourself. It's a no-brainer! Stay at 4th Floor in Rome with Lauro on your next visit.

It was clean, comfortable and the best: the central, pleasant position and surrounding - everything easily to reach in walking distance, nice typical italian trattorias nearby.
